Azimuth
Alone in Rockport harbor, this single boat sat on her mooring all one winter. Mindful of a recent tragedy in the fisherman's family, the boat’s isolation could readily have been perceived as bleak and lonely.
But the boat has kept open the little bit of water right around her....she is not fully frozen in and, somehow, even in her isolation, there is a suggestion of resilience, maybe even hope.
This is very much a portrait of a man, a family, of complex relationships....and somehow "azimuth" speaks to me of the relationships that we all, in our circumscribed worlds, have with larger forces.
